Ancien Relais de Poste et de Messageries
It was built in 1654. This exceptional site, considered unique in France, is made up of several buildings: main building, stables, stagecoach halls, sheepfold, wine press, etc.
At the time it allowed the exchange of horses for travelers and mail between Paris and Sedan on the road which also passed through Charleville-Mézières, it was open night and day.
The importance of the stagecoach hall, the numerous stables, the size of the haylofts, the grain reserves, the dimensions of the two high cart doors, the imposing postmaster's residence with a guest table and topped with its rooms for travelers, all these buildings and their size bear witness to the strong activity that there was here in the 17th century.
