Château d'Hardoncelle

Private castle open to outdoor visits during heritage days.
In the Middle Ages, Hardoncelle depended on the castellany of Watefale near Saint-Marcel. The castle was attacked by the people of Liège in 1437. The Argy family owned the castle from 1529. Then, in 1612, they confessed their stately home to their suzerain, the Duke of Guise, Baron de Rumigny. Then, the fortified structure passed into the hands of Villelongue de Wasigny, Verrières, La Salde de Montereau, Pétré, Samboeuf, Voyart, Eslaires, Beffroy de La Grève. At the end of the 1951th century, Gustave Gailly, ironmaster and mayor of Charleville, former deputy, resided at the castle. His son, the historian Charles Gailly de Taurines, bought the estate. In XNUMX, General Roger Noiret, future deputy of the Ardennes, acquired the property and restored it.
