Take the route of The Meuse Cycle Route – EuroVelo 19, is to leave for an adventure of 1050 km through three countries: France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
From the Langres plateau where the river has its source, to the mouth of the North Sea in Rotterdam, this circuit offers a gentle stroll, most often along the water (950 km along the river) to discover the Mosan river, its uses and the species that live there.
From a long journey to a one-day outing, the Meuse by Bike – EuroVelo 19 can be experienced at their own pace and offers a multitude of experiences and possible starting points. In Belgium, it takes the Ravel network and in the Netherlands the LF Maasroute where it joins the EuroVelo 15 (Rhine by Bike). In France, after Haute-Marne and the Meuse department, the route joins the Trans-Ardennes Greenway near Mouzon, labeled Small City of Character.
Ride safely on a flat road and in a magnificent natural environment. This is the promise kept by the Ardennes section of the Meuse à Vélo.
From Mouzon to Givet, its 130 km run along the river on banks specially designed for gentle roaming and in a fabulous setting. Open your eyes. Many species live here. You cross the Ardennes Regional Nature Park.
Two cities of art and history (Sedan, Charleville-Mézières) dot the route as well as picturesque villages such as Monthermé, the pearl of the Ardennes, Fumay, the city of slate or even Nouzonville, Bogny-sur-Meuse, Vireux, Givet… Arrived at the gates of Belgium, you can continue or choose a return by train via the Givet/Charleville-Mézières railway line.
