Église Notre Dame de Liart
visit by appointment
Fortified church with a tower-porch in the shape of a powerful two-storey fort, pierced with fine firing openings and endowed with a pretty gatehouse supported by three consoles. The apse is flanked by two polygonal turrets pierced with loopholes. Note the existence of cast iron culverins, slender and long guns, which could be supported by means of pitchforks stuck in the ground. The reconstruction of the building, in the XNUMXth century, began with the choir, financed by the abbey of the parish, Saint-Nicaise de Reims, and continued with the fortified dungeon-porch, at the expense of the inhabitants of the village. . Between the two, the old nave was rebuilt economically.
