Château et Jardins de Villette

Visible from the outside only.
The Château de la Villette was rebuilt in the second half of the 1552th century following the damage done by the army of Charles V in XNUMX.
Cardinal Mazarin stayed there in 1651 during the Fronde. After having belonged to the Duchy of Rethel then to Marguerite de Belaux, the castle became in 1767, the property of Jean-Franis Maucomble, adviser secretary to the king and lord of Glaire.

Located on the banks of the Meuse, this Renaissance defense castle has been transformed over time into a pleasure castle with French gardens.

The Château de Villette and its gardens are listed in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments.
