You won't make him take a car just because it's raining. Pierre Maréchal shares with us some routes to follow.

His regular trip

From Charleville-Mézières, head towards Revin, via Warcq, Cliron, Renwez and the Côte des Mazures. “A few nice turns allow you to “lay down the bike” while respecting the speed limits. Cross Revin. Instead of exiting on the Fumay bridge on the left, go straight on, towards the Despite Everything. Two or three viewpoints overlook the rock faces along the way. Continue straight on a long macadamized forest path. At the end, turn right towards the Woiries for a return to Charleville-Mézières or follow left, direction Hargnies. A beautiful road is then offered to you as far as Vireux-Wallerand. Cross the bridge and turn right towards Givet. Recommended stop in Hierges. Count between 2h30 and 4 hours depending on the stops.

Small roads full of greenery and turns, what more could you ask for.

His trip to Bouillon, Belgium

Leave Charleville-Mézières by Montcy-Saint-Pierre, direction Saint-Laurent. Continue straight (D979 via La Grandville, Gespunsart) without asking yourself any questions. The road is beautiful and offers some nice bends to the border village of Pussemange. In the direction of Bouillon, turn left in a hairpin bend (30 km/h). Go through Corbion (be careful, the surface of this winding road is damaged in places). Once arrived, stop and refreshments. For the return, make a U-turn or take the highway to "knock off the engine".

Its transardenne (the route of the Abbeys)

Start with Notre-Dame-de-Clairefontaine in Bouillon, then head to the abbey church of Elan to discover the astonishing Saint-Roger fountain. Then, go to the abbey of the charming town of Mouzon, the Hermitage of Saint-Walfroy (which offers an exceptional view of the Chiers valley), or Orval, Saint-Hubert, Rochefort, Dinant, Maredsous, Walcourt , Chimay (in Belgium)… Each stage offers its share of charm and surprise because these abbeys conceal some treasures (such as well-kept secret cheese and beer recipes) to take away for a tasting on the way back.
