Like every year for around twenty years, the Pentecost weekend rhymes with beers and good humor in Charleville-Mézières. Firstrd edition of the Oktoberfest takes place from May 17 to 20, 2024 Ducal Square. 4 days of celebration on the program!
Numbers that make you dizzy
165 beers* on tap, 57 breweries represented… Blondes, brunettes, redheads, amber… There is something for everyone during these 4 days of celebration with 25% more stands and beers compared to last year! Hundreds of hectoliters of beer should therefore flow freely.
Note that different types of catering ranging from snacking to local cuisine will also be offered.
Several tens of thousands of people are expected.
Originality
The Charleville-Mézières Beer Festival mainly offers beer served on tap and not in bottles. as is often the case in this type of event. This makes it original.
Of course, some beers only exist in bottles, such as Trappist beers, abbey beers. They are offered in a specific stand.
FYI, pilsners are prohibited at the Charleville-Mézières Beer Festival to make room for beers with character.
The Oktoberfest combines festivity, conviviality and brewing culture in order to introduce the general public to beer and its history.
Local productions
Beer being the Ardennes drink par excellence, local productions will have their place at the party with the breweries Ardwen, Of Malt and O, of Arthur, Charlier and son, Margoulette, the Coulous, the 3 Brewers, Brasserie 90 and the new Monthermé brewery to name only the Ardennes of France.
A varied program in a friendly, family atmosphere
In a family and friendly atmosphere, the Oktoberfest offers many varied and fun activities.
- Fairground stands to entertain young and old
- Catering areas eat in or take away throughout the day.
- The waiters' race Sunday May 19 at 14:30 p.m..
The 20 participants complete a route on the roadway of Place Ducale as quickly as possible, walking while carrying a well-stocked tray whose contents must be preserved. Bursts of laughter guaranteed!
The race will consist of completing a course of approximately 1,500 km, or 3 laps of Place Ducale with various difficulties.
A joyful moment not to be missed! - The Gambrinus Challenge : After selection on the internet: Quiz, questions then different tests to find the aromas present in a beer by smell or taste or even recognize beers blindly etc. Many prizes to be won.

The + Ecocups
For 2 years now, the organizers of the Oktoberfest have had reusable ecological Cups made with the image of the event.
They will be sold at the reception chalet (G 09) in the center of the square, facing the fountain, at the price of €1 for 25 cl and €1 for 50 cl.
Ten water points are distributed across the square for washing them.
