Sentier des hautes rives

A nice hike in Vouzinoise lands
Follow the yellow pedestrian markings.
1- From Place Carnot, head towards rue Chanzy to go down towards the Canal des Ardennes. Stay on this main artery, pass in front of the post office, in front of the church then over the Bridge.
2- On the Bridge, turn left and take the Canal des Ardennes to Vrizy. Always continue straight on the canal. Pass 3 locks successively.
3- Leave the canal by turning left at the lock house. Go over the rails to join a country path which descends slightly to the right. Then keep to the left in the bend and continue on the grassy path. Arrived at the height of Vrizy, continue straight. Enter the village, turn left then right then left again.
4- At the intersection with rue des basketniers, continue straight on avenue Beguin. An information panel on “Les Prairies de la Vallée de l’Aisne” is located next to the tennis court. Turn left onto Chemin des Hautes Rives and continue straight ahead. Enter the woods, cross it, exit to follow a field and turn left onto a path going up towards the RD983.
5- Turn left to follow the RD983 for about 160m then turn right and follow the white path.
6- The path now crosses an agricultural plot. Turn left to enter the plot and left to exit. Continue on the path, then pass above the Pont de la Muette on a small road before arriving at Les Paquis.
7- Turn right on the white path, a small positive elevation awaits you.
8- At the top of the hill, turn left at the intersection. Pass by the Argona Aquatic Center and continue straight ahead. Cross the roundabout and go down Rue de Syrienne. At the intersection with Rue du Temple, turn left to return to the city center and Place Carnot.
