Come and discover the village of Rocquigny and its Mermoz castle via this trail number 53. Immerse yourself in the history of this famous and renowned aviator, who spent his early years in Mainbressy, not far from Rocquigny. Also enjoy the many viewpoints along this pleasant trail…
At the departure sign stands the castle of Jean Mermoz located in front of you on “Rue de la Bauve de l'Isle” in the direction of La Romagne.
Your route begins at “Rue de la Malacquise” in the direction of Chaumont-Porcien.
On the departmental road at the exit of the village, turn left towards “la Guinguette” passing near the “Ferme du Pont”.
Then continue for 700m. At the top of the hill, about 250m before the hamlet of La Guinguette, turn left then continue straight on this path until you reach the departmental road.
Cross this road to continue on the path opposite.
Continue straight ahead then follow the woods on the left.
When you reach the crossroads, turn left towards “La Verrerie”.
A few meters after the bridge, take the path slightly to the right to follow the woods.
Then continue for 1km until you reach a departmental road again.
Continue straight ahead (be careful when crossing) then turn right before entering the woods on your left.
Continue to the top of the climb then turn left towards “Cours des Jourdains” to go back down to the place called “Blanche glacée”.
Then continue until you reach the crossroads.
Turn left then immediately right to take a path for 1,5 km going back down towards Rocquigny.
On returning to the village, turn left to return to your starting point.
