Escapades sur les Crêtes n°32 – Sentier des poètes

At the departure sign, take the direction of Saint-Lambert-et-Mont-de-Jeux by crossing the bridge, passing in front of the Town Hall, then continuing “Rue de la Hamée”.
At the exit of Semuy, turn right (marker 4/15) to climb the path for a distance of 1km, then, at the crossroads, turn left towards the village of Mont-de-Jeux.
Pass near the chapel and continue straight ahead to enter the village.
At the first houses, notice the gate of the old Château, listed as a historic monument in 1995.
André Dhôtel's house is located nearby and you can also admire the meanders of the Aisne valley which so inspired the writer.
Leave the village and turn left to reach the old station.
Follow the railway line and pass over the Aisne.
Then turn left to follow the Ardennes Canal for 650m to the Rilly-sur-Aisne lock.
Take the bridge and turn left then continue straight on for 650m.
Turn right, then, 100m further on, left, to continue straight ahead again, this time for a 150m section.
When you reach the Ardennes Canal bridge, turn left to return to your starting point.
