Tourisme et Handicap is a state brand awarded to tourism professionals who engage in a quality approach focused on accessibility for all, in particular people with disabilities.

In 2022, there are 8 structures with the Tourism and Handicap label in the Ardennes: 2 furnished tourist accommodation, 5 museums and places to visit, 1 hiking trail.

To begin…

Do you know Free access ?

The Ministry of Ecological Transition has developed " Free access ", a public and collaborative ERP accessibility platform.

This platform makes it possible to collect all the accessibility information necessary for people with disabilities. The objective is to help your visitors/customers prepare their trip more easily.

Whether your establishment is fully or partially accessible, take two minutes to complete the form by clicking on the link and take advantage of this free opportunity.

I provide the accessibility of my establishment in less than 2 minutes

 In addition, the ministerial delegation for accessibility has published the guide “Welcoming disabled people in a hotel or accommodation“. Simple and effective, this guide will give you the keys to a suitable welcome.

Who is it for?

  • Tourist accommodation (furnished, campsites, hotels, etc.)
  • Restaurants, tourist sites (monuments, museums, etc.)
  • Natural sites (gardens, regional parks, hiking trails, etc.)
  • Sports activities (swimming pools, beaches, boating, etc.)
  • Cultural and leisure activities (theatre, theme parks, etc.)
  • Information points (tourist offices, etc.)

What's the point ?

  • Offer a adapted reception to people with disabilities;
  • Make the accessibility of its structure visible to the public concerned;
  • Unite its employees around a responsible project.

What advantages?

  • Competitive advantage: you attract new loyal customers;
  • You communicate reliable information on the accessibility of your structure;
  • Recognition of the accessibility of 2 to 4 types of handicap;
  • Training of your staff in the reception of people with disabilities, improvement of their knowledge;
  • Anticipation of new legislation.

How does it work?

  • Take note of the criteria of the label, they are accessible online on the website of the Directorate General for Enterprises ;
  • Complete an online self-assessment by following this link: Welcome to the “Tourism Quality” evaluator (entreprises.gouv.fr) ;
  • Contact Stéphanie Drothier, Tourism and Handicap assessor for the Ardennes, who will take care of submitting your application file online, can advise you and organize the assessment visit;
  • Evaluation visit: once the work is finished, a pair of evaluators (a tourism professional and a disability professional) comes to examine your site from every angle;
  • The regional commission studies the file submitted by the evaluators and attributes the mark with the types of handicap granted (minimum 2 types of handicap);
  • For the departments of the former Champagne-Ardenne region, this commission meets twice a year, in Troyes;
  • The site is labeled for 5 years.

Internet presence

  • You appear on the search engine for T&H labeled sites (DGE website);
  • Your accessibility appears on most online ad sites as well as on the sites of institutional organizations (OT, ADTEtc.).

How much does it cost ?

  • Free departmental support and labeling visit;
  • No membership fees or dues;
  • Panel (not mandatory): €200 excl. tax / €240 incl. tax.
