Viaduc d'Ariéthal

With 200 meters long, 5 meters wide and 9 arches The highest of which rises to 30 meters, gain some altitude by exploring the Ariéthal viaduct!

 
Built from 1932 to 1934, this structure made it possible to connect by track Reims, Sedan and Metz.

It was part of a set intended to supply the Maginot linePartially destroyed by the French in June 1940, it was repaired by the Germans in 1941; the rails were finally dismantled in 1943 and sent to the Eastern Front.

access: Between Grandpré and Varennes-en-Argonne on the D 946, take the road towards Exermont. Once in the village, take the first left. You will cross a farmyard before reaching a small valley. Continue for 1 km before arriving at the fortification. Be careful and drive slowly!

Possibility of reaching the viaduct through the woods (approximately 800 meters).

Access to the upper part of the viaduct is prohibited. It is currently unused, but for the more adventurous among you, the association Elastic Adrenaline invites you to live the experience of Bungee jumping from the viaduct! So, are you jumping?
