Château de Montcornet en Ardenne

Open from April 13 to September 30 from 14 p.m. to 18 p.m. Discover a medieval garden and the trail for families, children and teenagers.

Medieval fortress. The Château de Montcornet has kept its original appearance as a medieval sentinel. The rocky outcrop of Mont Cornu, dominating the small valley of the Sormonne, has been occupied by a fortress since the 12th century, abandoned in the 17th century. The ruins of the "Colisée Feudal de Montcornet", dear to Michelet, have been cleared and its underground passages now house an exhibition hall.
New: creation of a “discovery tour” booklet sold for €1 to discover the entire castle and life in the Middle Ages in a fun way. The discovery trail exists in a version (French and Dutch) for children aged 6 to 12 and for 11-14 year olds (following the 5th grade program).
