Marcq – Village Fleuri "1 Fleur"

Year of obtaining the 1st Flower in 2015
Marcq is a village in the Argonne Ardennaise which has approximately 110 inhabitants.
This town is located 22km east of Vouziers (Ardennes) and 50km west of Verdun (Meuse).

Crossing this charming village you will notice two pretty buildings at each end of the town,
– The “Mercier” castle was built in 1760 by the blacksmith Nicolas Dérué. It has a beautiful 18th century appearance with its slate roof and its alternating stone and brick construction (typically Ardennes). It has been listed since 1998 on the supplementary list of historic monuments.
– The “Dérué” castle, prior to the previous one. Its origins date back to the 15th century. It then belonged to the Chamisso family, passing to the Marquis de Puisieux then in the middle of the 1780th century to the Dussaussoy-Savary family. It was sold on May 1650, XNUMX to the Dérué family (notable family from the country since XNUMX).
