Maison du Tisserand – 1870
On September 2, 1870, to thwart the project of a tete-a-tete of conciliation hoped for by Napoleon III with the King of Prussia, Bismarck went, very early in the morning, to meet the Emperor at the height of this house which belonged to a weaver, not far from Donchery bridge.
It was abandoned by its inhabitants, they entered it and took chairs to sit outside. The conversation was futile and painful, and at eight o'clock in the morning, joined by Moltke, they headed for the castle of Bellevue.
