Le Musée Guerre et Paix

The War and Peace Museum aims to present the history of the Ardennes during the three wars of 1870, 1914-1918 and 1939-1945. Its subject is of great originality since it is devoted to three great major conflicts whereas museums linked to the history of contemporary wars generally concern only one conflict.

It situates the history of the Ardennes in its general, national and international context, to grasp all the interactions and facilitate understanding.
The story is presented continuously, from 1852 to 1945. This choice makes it possible to grasp the sequences over the long term, the continuities and the ruptures.
The discourse is enriched by a plural presentation of the history of wars, including the military, political and diplomatic, economic and technical, social and cultural dimensions. The vocation of the museum goes beyond the simple way of history.
