Keeping its authenticity, Charnois is a small village full of contrasts which guarantees a change of scenery.
From ancient times, we discover the Saint-Rémi church which dates from 1750 or even the fountain from 1864, dedicated to Saint-Quirin. The building recalls the martyrdom of the Roman officer who converted to Christianity and whose body was thrown into a lake.
“The waters of this lake had therapeutic virtues... like the village fountain, which associated with a plant, also had medicinal virtues for the skin.
It was from these observations that the destiny of this man was associated with the fountain, which was restored in blue stone thanks to Charnoisian patrons.”
