Verlaine traveled a lot, yet of all the places he frequented, few are still standing. Among these few buildings, only one is still intact and accessible to the public: the Auberge du Lion d'Or in Juniville.

Located opposite the house that Verlaine rented, not far from his farm, the Auberge has now become the Verlaine Museum. In this “lodge on foot and on horseback”, the furniture has not moved, time has stood still and the soul has remained intact.

Much more than a simple evocation of the poet, the scenography of this place extends over 1500m². It will make you revisit his life and his work thanks to a unique iconographic collection, a quality guided tour, provision of the complete work (prose, poetry and correspondence) and, of course, thanks to this unique atmosphere that one feels as soon as one crosses the threshold.

After your visit, you will still have to discover the 1000m² of old garden, the temporary exhibitions and the bistro.
