L'ancien Tribunal de Rethel

The plans and specifications for the tribunal are due to the architect Reimbeau, of Reims. This building is one of the oldest monuments in Rethel that escaped the destruction of the last two wars
global.

Built in the last years of the Second Empire, it is of a style quite in honor of that period. Without being a masterpiece, the Rethel court is not devoid of elegance.

Its construction began in 1867 and it will be inaugurated in 1871.

Until 1987, part of the building housed the Musée du Rethélois et du Porcien (founded in 1926).
