Le Monument aux Morts du Maquis des Manises et le Calvaire des Manises

This monument, which measures 12 meters long and 6 meters high, is the work of the sculptor Henri Louis.
It was built at the end of the Second World War and was inaugurated on June 27, 1948.
This event took place in the presence of numerous personalities including Vincent Auriol, President of the Republic, accompanied by Mr. François Mitterand, then Minister of Veterans Affairs.
On June 13, 1944, as the Second World War entered its final phase, 106 maquisards of the Maquis des Manises, mostly young people from Revin and the surrounding area, refractory to the Compulsory Labor Service, were massacred by the SS on the heights of Despite Everything, at a place called Le Père des Chênes.

Every year, on June 13, the local population and personalities gather around the Calvaire des Manises, in the Père des Chênes clearing, for a remembrance ceremony, then, returning to Revin, stop for a drop-off wreaths at the foot of the Monument du Maquis, erected on the slope of Despite-All.
