at THUGNY TRUGNY

Église Saint-Loup

We know from an inscription placed on the vault of the southern transept that the church was built in 1555 by the care of a mason from Thugny named Jean Godart.
The nave once had aisles but the large arcades have been filled in, as can be seen to the south.
The two-bay transept mixes the Gothic style (capitals) and the Renaissance style, but the vaulted apse chapel which opens onto the south arm is clearly Renaissance, which appears especially in the capitals and in the drawing of windows.

Furniture: Marble high altar with four Corinthian columns and baldachin.
