Trésor d'Art Sacré des Ardennes
Visible during guided tours organized by the Tourist Office or the City of Art and History service.
Open free of charge during Heritage Days in September.
The Treasure of Sacred Art of the Ardennes, inaugurated in July 2018, brings together around fifty masterpieces from churches in the department, sacred objects that had long been hidden from public view in sacristies or storerooms.
The result of a long process of inventory and selection, the Treasury presents these ancient statues, precious reliquaries, gold-worked chalices, embroidered chasubles and paintings within a modern museographic space set up in the Notre-Dame d'Espérance Basilica. These exceptional objects provide a panorama of religious art from the 13th century to the 19th century in the Ardennes, testifying to the know-how of artisans and popular devotion.
