Ancienne Filature de laine
Private property, buildings visible from the outside
The spinning mill, installed on the site of a former platinum factory (1617), was transformed in 1833 by François-Adolphe Ronnet. It developed despite the war of 1870 and a fire in 1883, increasing the local population from 84 inhabitants in 1856 to 546 in 1881.
Sold in 1894 to Lemaire and Dilliès, it became one of the largest carded wool spinning mills in France before the Second World War, employing 500 workers in 1914. The activity ceased in 1958.
The site includes rubble buildings, a square tower with fire tank, a wool store, and an 1857 boss's house with wrought iron veranda.
