Visible from outside from the street
On March 28, 1911, E. Roche and P. Guérin founded SA des Ateliers d'estampage de la Vence, specializing in stamped parts for railways, mechanics and automobiles. Renamed Forges et Ateliers de la Vence in 1956, it was controlled by the Richier group from 1963 to 1974, then by Demangel-Vence. After several changes of ownership, it became SODEMET in 1995, specializing in machining.

At its peak, the factory covered 48 m² and produced 000 to 80 tonnes of stamped parts. In 100, it employed 1980 workers, a figure reduced to 100 in 53. Today, only the limestone rubble and brick offices, the brick machine shops with shed roofs, and steel or timber-framed storage buildings remain.
