L'Ermitage de Saint-Walfroy

Around the year 565, Deacon Walfroy, a rare Western Stylite monk, settled at the top of the mountain that today bears his name.

His goal was to convert to Christianity the pagan peoples of the Treveri who worshiped the goddess Arduinna.

This is how Saint-Walfroy became a place of pilgrimage and a church was built there.

Completely destroyed in 1944, it was rebuilt in 1957 on the foundations of the old XNUMXth century building.

We discover stained glass windows by Pierre Gaudin, mosaicist, master glassmaker from an exceptional lineage.
