Ancienne usine metallurgique Manestamp

Visible from outside only
Lucien Demangel introduced stamping to France and transformed his company in 1902 into the Manufacture Ardennaise d'Estampage (Manestamp), with a new factory built on Rue de l'Abreuvoir. After damage during the First World War, the factory was rebuilt in 1922 and diversified its production with forging. Mainly oriented towards automobiles for Peugeot, it experienced a decline from 1979, leading to its closure in 1983.

The site, since abandoned, bears witness to this industrial history with buildings dating from the reconstruction, a noble administrative façade, and imposing production infrastructures. These include a 6300-ton press installed in the 1970s, brick workshops, metal structures and a water tower. At its peak, the factory employed up to 500 workers to produce 6000 tons of stamped parts per year.
