Ancienne usine de chaudronnerie Faure
Today, car repair garage and technical premises Espace Habitat
The boilermaking, sheet metal and galvanizing factory, located in Mézières, is believed to have been built at the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century. After the Second World War, it housed the Gaston Dham paint factory. Today, the site is shared between the Ponsart garage, on the Quai Roussel side, and the technical premises of Espace Habitat, on the Rue d'Alsace and Boulevard Poirier side. In 1943, the factory employed 48 people.
The complex, bordered by three streets near the Meuse, includes several buildings:
-On the Quai Roussel side, five buildings made of limestone rubble, with long-sloped or shed roofs, and wooden frames covered with slate or sheet metal.
-On the rue d'Alsace side, rubble buildings with metal sheds, extended by three brick workshops with metal frames, covered with sheet metal or asbestos cement.
These buildings frame offices and a concierge's lodge forming a U-shaped plan, built in limestone rubble with a square floor, near the main entrance.
