Cimetière militaire allemand d'Apremont
South of Fléville and Exermont, the town of Apremont has a German cemetery which has 1111 individual graves. This cemetery, created in November 1915 for those killed in the Argonne Forest, is the only one to preserve a large part of the burial sites in their original state. You will see in particular the tomb and stele of Commander Baron Von Müllenheim-Rechberg, commanding the 5th battalion of hunters, killed at Haute-Chevauchée on April 8, 1916. In the cemetery is the monument of the 27th Landwher regiment.
This military cemetery became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2023, with the Burial sites and memorials of the First World War (Western Front)
