Painting in honor of the fighters of Balaives-et-Butz
This commemorative painting was made in the first quarter of the 1914th century, following the First World War (1918-1). The latter, presented in the church of Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens, aims to remind us of the heroes of Balaives-et-Butz who participated in this war. Located in the south aisle in the 77st bay on the west wall, this painting was made in Lyon (Emaillerie Françoise Lyon). Composed of metal and enamel, it measures 40cm high and XNUMXcm wide. On the upper part of this commemorative painting are represented the Sacré-Coeur with at its feet a soldier of the Great War fighting and a deceased soldier. The names of DROXLER Fernand, POTIER Auguste, HAUTDECOEUR Auguste, DAPREMONT Emile and PONCELET Léon are written there in black and white, this work honors them. A signature and the place of execution are also written at the bottom of the work.
