The Arthur Rimbaud museum is an essential place to better understand this poet born in Charleville who has become an icon.
In the heart of the historic center, it offers the opportunity to discover the life and work of Arthur Rimbaud through the poet's manuscripts and numerous works by contemporary artists such as Picasso, Léger, Giacometti, Cocteau, Max Ernst, Sonia Delaunay or, closer to us, Ernest Pignon-Ernest, inspired by the poems and the figure of Rimbaud.
The Arthur Rimbaud museum maintains more than 2000 works in its collection. Among them are autograph manuscripts including “Voyelles” or “A la musique”, photographs taken by Arthur Rimbaud, self-portraits or photos retracing his daily life in Africa, artists’ books, true works of art, illustrating Rimbaud’s poetry.
