With 200 meters long,5 meters wide and 9 arches the highest of which amounts to30 meters, gain height by exploring the Ariétal viaduct! Built from 1932 to 1934, this structure made it possible to connect bytrack Reims, Sedan and Metz. It was part of a set intended to supply the Maginot line. Partially destroyed by the French in June 1940, it was repaired by the Germans in 1941; the rails were finally dismantled in 1943 and sent to the Eastern Front. Access: Between Grandpré and Varennes-en-Argonne on the D 946, head towards Exermont. Once in the village, take the first left. You cross a farmyard before reaching a valley. Continue your route for 1 km before arriving at the work.Access to the upper part of the viaduct is prohibited. It is unused today, but for the more daring among you, the association Elastic Adrenaline invites you to live the experience ofBungee jumping from the viaduct! So, are you jumping?
