Manse Abbatiale d'Elan

The Notre-Dame d'Élan church is located in the heart of the village, on the site of an old Cistercian abbey rebuilt in 1720 and in 1840, when it became a parish.
It retains only the first two bays of the nave and has a rectangular plan. The exterior portal consists of four Corinthian columns.
At the edge of the forest stands the abbey mansion flanked by four towers (private property, visible from the outside only) It has a remarkable frame in the shape of an upside-down boat hull.
Not far away, the Notre Dame d'Élan church, an XNUMXth century church with a magnificent portal.
Don't miss the magnificent walk around the Chapelle Saint Roger.
This chapel is located on the site of a spring made miraculous by the founder of the abbey – Saint Roger.
End the visit with the arboretum proposed by the ONF.

Nearby fishery “Les Étangs d’Élan”.
