Every year the Château de Villette can be visited by appointment from July 1st to 10th, and from September 1st to 30th.
The fortified house of Villette, acquired by Dauwars Ferron in 1399, was destroyed in 1552 during the sacking of La Villette by the troops of Martin van Rossum. Rebuilt from 1586 by the De Warigny-D'Aguisy family, it became a pleasure castle in the XNUMXth century under Jean-François Maucomble, who gave it its current form by enlarging the façade and laying out a garden.
During the Revolution, the castle secretly housed Nicolas Philbert, constitutional bishop of Sedan, who died there in 1797. During the capitulation of Sedan in 1870, the lands served as a camp for 83 prisoners and 000 horses, described by Émile Zola in La Débâcle. After years of abandonment, the building was restored and listed as a historic monument in 70.
