Eglise Saint Rémi de Rubecourt et Lamecourt

Closed to the public

The Saint-Rémi church, built in 1865, is located on the southern outskirts of the village, with a south-facing choir. It follows an elongated plan, comprising a single-vessel nave preceded by a bell tower whose ground floor serves as a vestibule. This bell tower is flanked by two external spaces, one of which houses a staircase leading to the attic. The choir has a straight bay and a three-sided apse, with a sacristy attached to the north side.

The building, constructed of limestone rubble, uses red brick for the quoins and buttresses, and cut stone for the frames. Inside, the walls are rendered, and the floor is covered with polychrome cement tiles. It has a single level lit by large semi-circular bays. The bell tower includes an entrance vestibule, an organ gallery and a bell chamber. The interior volumes are ceilinged.

The slate roofs cover the nave and the choir with long-span roofs, the apse with a polygonal hip, the sacristy with a lean-to roof, and the bell tower with a polygonal spire.
