Eglise Saint-Martin de Dom le Mesnil

Closed to the public
The Saint-Martin church is a homogeneous building built around 1850 (the old bells date from 1857 and a painting dates from 1850) in the neoclassical style. The sacristies were added afterwards. The Saint-Martin church, located in the centre of the village, has an elongated plan with a main façade with a steeple serving as a vestibule to the three-aisled nave. The choir consists of a straight bay and a polygonal apse, framed by two sacristies made of rubble. The building is mainly made of cut stone from Dom-le-Mesnil, with rendered interior surfaces. The floor of the nave is paved with limestone slabs, that of the choir with black marble tiles. The three-level bell tower is distinguished by its openings and louvers, while the nave, covered with a false barrel vault, is supported by Tuscan columns. The slate roofs end with an imperial roof for the bell tower and lean-to roofs for the choir and sacristies.
