Eglise Sainte Marguerite de Nouzonville

In 1767, the inhabitants requested a larger church to accommodate foreign workers. Completed in 1774, but completed in 1777, the Sainte-Marguerite church has galleries added in the 19th century. The chevet was partially rebuilt in 1987 after a truck accident. A former parish chapel mentioned in the 13th century, it was dedicated to Saint Marguerite from 1532 and became a rectory in 1687.
Located to the north of the village, it has an elongated plan. The three-aisled nave of four bays precedes a choir with a semicircular apse and a sacristy backing onto the north aisle. A western massif includes the bell tower, chapels, and stairs leading to extended galleries on the aisles.
Built in Romery rubble and cut stone, it has a marble and slate checkerboard floor. The ordered façade, with a semicircular portal and a triplet of bays, illuminates the organ gallery. The depressed barrel vaults imitate ribbed vaults, and the apse is vaulted with radiating quarters. The whole is covered in slate, with an imperial roof for the bell tower topped with a lantern.
