for having broken various records (first aerial crossing of the Mediterranean, September 1, 23 in 1913h7min).
A volunteer in 1914, he was the first to set up shooting through the propeller. After several victories in 1915 and a 3-year captivity in Germany, he returned to the front in 1918. It was in aerial combat that on October 5, Roland Garros lost his life over Saint-Morel.
