Exposition : “D’une rue à l’autre”

Sunday July 19

Maison du Patrimoine 08200 SEDAN

From April 11 to September 20, 2026 at the Heritage House.

This original exhibition, conceived and designed by the City's Heritage Department, invites you to rediscover the history of Sedan through its street signs. These everyday elements are true witnesses to the past, recounting the city's evolution, evoking vanished places, local and national historical figures, and reflecting the political and civic choices that shape our urban space.

The exhibition also showcases the work of students in the ULIS class at La Prairie school. With guidance from the Heritage Department, they designed their own street signs as part of the "Class, Artwork" program, a joint initiative of the Ministry of Culture and National Education. Their work will be presented during the European Night of Museums on May 23, 2026.

Be a part of Sedan's history!

As part of the exhibition, you are invited to vote to name the square located between the bus station and the Quai de la Régente. Four women who have left their mark on the history of Sedan are proposed. The name receiving the most votes will be chosen, and a plaque will be installed. Voting is open throughout the duration of the exhibition.

Antique plaques, archives, maps, and urban signage objects complete this rich and accessible exhibition. An exhibition to discover alone, with family, or with friends, offering a fresh perspective on our streets and their history.
