1914 : Le début de la Grande Guerre – conférence et exposition au Musée Guerre et Paix

Impasse du musée 08270 NOVION PORCIEN
In August-September 1914, tensions between the Entente countries and the empires crystallized into a declaration of war by Germany on France.
To mark the 110th anniversary of these events, the War and Peace Museum is hosting a conference and an exhibition evoking the beginnings of what would become the Great War.

CONFERENCE:
“August-September 1914, Ardennes regiments in the furnace” by Pascal Boillet.

Painter and history enthusiast, Pascal Boillet created an exhibition in 1988 on the theme of the Great War 1914-18. Coming to reside in the Ardennes in 1990, he discovered the side of the regions occupied during the Great War, a theme on which he today enjoys writing and giving conferences.

During this anniversary period, he will return to the role of the Ardennes regiments at this turning point in History.

EXHIBITION:
Exceptional presentation of objects and illustrations evoking the beginnings of the Great War, in the Museum Auditorium.
