To help pass the time until the next one World Puppet Theatre Festival (from 17 26 September 2027 in Die), See you from September 16th to 20th, 2026 at Charleville-Mezieres to M time, a series of puppet events in theaters, on the streets and even in bars.
M is for… Puppet, of course!
With " M time ", the organizers of the World Puppet Theatre Festival (FMTM) offer the public a highlight of "puppets" in the inter-festival years. Combined, the FMTM and this artistic time form a tandem, serving an art and artists who invest in the city every year.
In this year 2026, M time will showcase the students of theESNAM (National School of Puppet Arts), located in Charleville-Mézières, as well as several guest puppeteers, some still studying and others very recently graduates from 5 leading European schools (Stuttgart in Germany 🇩🇪, Levanger in Norway 🇳🇴, Mons in Belgium 🇧🇪, Tallinn in Estonia 🇪🇪 and Kharkiv in Ukraine 🇺🇦), positioning the event as a catalyst for encounters and a springboard for young European generations.
A rich and varied program!
The south-korean Time of M 2026 promises to be particularly rich and abundant, true to the festival's mission of fostering dialogue between creation, transmission and research.
During 5 daysthe public will be able to discover 23 shows worn by 22 artistic teams bringing together 117 artists, for a total of 65 performancesincluding 14 in open access et 8 in media librariesThe event will also give significant space to research through 6 round tables bringing together 46 researchers, artists and speakers around contemporary issues in creation.
Finally, the event will continue its commitment to artistic and cultural education thanks to a programming ofworkshops open to all audiences,actions carried out in daycare, participatory shows and a artistic proposal presented in a prison, thus affirming its desire to make puppetry accessible to the greatest number of people.
