This summer, step through the doors of the Cour des Prés in Rumigny, in the Thiérache region of the Ardennes, and immerse yourself in 480 years of history.Throughout August, this former fortified residence opens its doors for historical tours. The highlight: an exceptional musical evening on Friday, August 21, 2026, combining a concert in Brunehamel with a candlelit dinner in the Renaissance rooms of the Cour des Prés.
480 years of history to discover
Built in 1546 by Louis Martin, provost of RumignyThe Cour des Prés is a former fortified house built in the context of the conflicts between the Kingdom of France and the troops of Charles V. At the time, Francis I encouraged the fortification of the region in order to better protect the population.
Over the centuries, the house has undergone numerous transformations and has seen several generations of the same family succeed one another. Today, still in the hands of his descendants, The property is carefully maintained. It offers guest rooms, and every summer, it comes alive with guided tours and concerts in a private and preserved setting.
