For 30 years, musical evenings followed by a candlelit dinner have been offered in the historic setting of the Court of the Meadows in Rumigny in Thiérache Ardennes. On the occasion of this anniversary, the association “Les Amis des Soirées de La Cour des Prés” invites you to experience an exceptional weekend on August 22, 23 and 24, 2025 between concerts, candlelit dinner and a musical and gourmet walk to discover the weekend's instruments (harp, trumpet, etc.)!
La Cour des Près: a historic gem in the heart of the Ardennes
Built in 1546 by Louis Martin, provost of Rumigny, this ancient fortified house responded to the call of King François I, anxious to strengthen the region's defenses against threats from the imperial troops of Charles V. This place, steeped in history, is said to have even hosted the Duke of Enghien, who is said to have drawn up the plans for the famous Battle of Rocroi there.
During the French Revolution, the castle became the residence of a Deputy, seduced by its charm. His grandson, Édouard Piette, renowned archaeologist and prehistorian, found inspiration and tranquility there for his research.
Today, still in the hands of his descendants, The property is carefully maintained. It offers guest rooms, and every summer, it comes alive with guided tours and concerts in a private and preserved setting.
The Aube stream feeds the castle moats, adding a bucolic touch to this exceptional site.

Piano concert (Liszt, Albéniz…) with Simon Ghraichy and his guests, followed by a candlelit dinner at La Cour des Prés in the company of the artists.

Musical and gourmet walk
Visit to La Cour des Prés punctuated by activities with among other things: discovery of instruments, readings of texts by Mina Fischer and snack with local specialties.
