Simon GHRAICHY, pianist
“An extraordinary pianist, unclassifiable, but endearing and impeccable. A performer equally at ease in the great repertoire as in rarer pieces, Simon Ghraichy is an artist bursting with talent, naturalness and sensitivity. A Deutsche Grammophon artist adored by audiences around the world, as a soloist or in recital, he displays a unique style and an explosive charm in the classical landscape. Between two international tours he comes to meet the Ardennes public for a unique moment.
“From Mexico to the Ardennes”: Works around Bach, Rossini and Mozart
Simon Ghraichy has the best surprises in store for you from his tour in Mexico, from which he will have just returned for you, around the great composers of Mexico, Lebanon, and Europe who make us love the festive and traditional sounds of their countries.
The Court of the Meadows
In 1546, Louis Martin, provost of Rumigny, had this old fortified house built in response to the call of King Francis I, who wanted to fortify the region to better protect the population from invasions by the imperial troops of Charles V.
Legend has it that it was within its walls that the Duke of Enghien drew up the plans for the Battle of Rocroi.
During the French Revolution, the Château de la Cour des Prés became the home of a Deputy, who fell under the spell of this beautiful residence. The grandson of this deputy, Edouard Piette, the famous archaeologist and prehistorian, liked to come and stay and work there.
The residence still belongs to descendants of Édouard Piette, who maintain it and have also set up guest rooms. Tours and concerts are organized every summer on this private property.
The Aube stream feeds its moat.
