An inveterate hiker, Michel Degré is a member of the association Paysages de France. He gives us his 3 hiking favorites.

1- At the water's edge: Asfeld

The surroundings of Asfeld offer an ideal walk with children. Flexible (5 to 10 km), with no height difference, this walk runs along the Aisne canal, not far from the meanders of the river conducive to astonishment. Along the way, you will come across the baroque Saint-Didier church (17e century, one of a kind) in Asfeld, a dam, a German cemetery. So many memories in so few kilometres.

2- In the woods: Olizy

From Olizy (near the Argonne Discovery Park), this family circuit offers a loop "between two worlds" of 6,4 km. Via Petite-Ville then Blanche-Falaise and Martignon before returning via Petite-Ville, the route of the Aisne visible in the distance marks the passage from the green and wooded Argonne to the Champagne mountains.

3- Around the ramparts: Rocroy

Labeled "Small City of Character", the star city of 16e century is savored while walking around the ramparts. Take your children to discover the country of the Rièzes, this harsh plateau domesticated by man. Let yourself be carried away by this landscape marked by history. Pay particular attention to the glacis, a natural landscaping that forced the enemy to uncover themselves.
